Superpremium Dog Food

NutroPetPlan is an organic super premium dog food manufactured from special and carefully picked recipes.

Dog foods are more generally distinguished based on their form, nutrient density (number of calories per pound) and, to a lesser degree, palatability and digestibility.

Super premium dog food offer 100% complete and balanced nutrition. Super premium products are at the high end of the spectrum for the distinguishing characteristics, premium products fall in the mid-range and non-premium products tend toward the lower end of the spectrum for wholeness and nutrient density.

Many pet food companies add low-quality protein products such as bone meal, by-products and corn gluten meal, knowing they can increase the percentage of crude protein on the label, without making a better food. Low quality proteins are not easily digestible, therefore not easily assimilated by the dog. You may have been paying for food that your dog can not utilize.

Quality dog foods usually contain more calories per pound and are more digestible, so it takes less quantity of a quality food, to meet your dog's needs. Also, smaller amounts of highly digestible, quality food mean less stools - another major advantage of quality digestible food.

A study chaired by Gary J. Nelson, Ph.D., of the U.S. Dept of Agriculture's Western Human Nutrition Research Center in San Francisco, showed that HDL increased by 10% by just eating 20 days of a high salmon diet!
American Heart Association indeed updated its guidelines in 2002 to recommend the consumption of fish oil supplements such as salmon oil to certain groups of patients with heart disease such as those needing to lower triglycerides.

5. Unmolassed Beet Pulp - The beet pulp provides nutrition for the probiotics. Beet pulp itself is considered a periodic. Periodic encourages the colonization of probiotics or reseeding of the gut with good intestinal flora. Probiotics are nondigestible food ingredients that beneficially affect the host by selectively stimulating the growth and/or activity of one or a limited number of bacteria in the colon and thus improves host health,
The second purpose of beet pulp, besides being a food source for theprobiotics of the gut, is to provide bulk to the stool which allows it to move through the digestive tract at a rate which assures maximum digestion and absorption of nutrients.

6. Mannan oligosaccharides contributes to a strengthening of the body's natural defences. Effect blocking of colonization pathogens and stimulates the development of beneficial protective lactobacillus and bifidobacterium organisms.

7. Yucca extract is naturally extracted and dried sap from the yucca schidigera cactus. Yucca has antioxidant properties, and may also help to reduce faecal and body odour. It may even help to reduce lawn staining from urine!
Yucca contains steroidal saponins, which are nature's most powerful anti-inflammatory agents for arthritis, bone and joint problems, soft tissue swelling, digestive, bowel problems and colic. Clinically proven to rapidly promote symptom relief similar to steroid medications, with none of the side-effects.

8. Blackcurrant Extract - Blackcurrants especially those bred in the British Isles are particularly rich and dark in colour, so possessing a high content of anthocyanins (polyphenols), which in turn promote antioxidant activity.
Blackcurrants also contain more Vitamin C than any other natural food source (- containing more than three times as much as an orange!) as well as containing high concentrations of the beneficial nutrients of Potassium, Magnesium, Iron, Calcium, Vitamins A and B amongst others. Emerging and existing research is now proving that blackcurrants can help in a number of common and important health areas, including: Cardiovascular, Ageing and Brain Function, Urinary Tract Health, respiratory system, Vision, immune and digestive system. Black currant is well tolerated by the body and has no reported adverse reactions.

9. Turmeric - Turmeric is a powerful medicine that has long been used in the Chinese and Indian systems of medicine as an anti-inflammatory agent to treat a wide variety of conditions, including flatulence, jaundice, menstrual difficulties, bloody urine, hemorrhage, toothache, bruises, chest pain, and colic, A Potent, yet Safe Anti-Inflammatory, An Effective Treatment for Inflammatory Bowel Disease, Relief for Rheumatoid Arthritis, Help for Cystic Fibrosis Sufferers, Cancer Prevention, Inhibits Cancer Cell Growth and Metastases, Turmeric and Onions May Help Prevent Colon Cancer,Improved Liver Function, Cardiovascular Protection,

10. Tocopherols (or TCP) are a class of chemical compounds of which vitamin E activity. Tocopherols are fat-soluble antioxidants but also seem to have many other functions in the body. Vitamin E deficiency causes neurological problems due to poor nerve conduction. These include neuromuscular problems such as spinocerebellar ataxia and myopathies. Deficiency can also cause anemia, due to oxidative damage to red blood cells.

12. Vitamin C is an antioxidant vitamin needed for the formation of collagen to hold the cells together and for healthy teeth, gums and blood vessels; improves iron absorption and resistance to infection.

13. SEAWEED - Increasingly valued for its medicinal properties, seaweed is poised to become the next superfood. New evidence suggests it’s good for the heart, and can help prevent cancer.
Many physical ailments in both humans and their companion animals can be regularly resolved with the simple addition of seaweeds to their respective diets. All essential minerals are provided by dietary seaweeds. No land plant even remotely approaches seaweeds as sources of metabolically-required minerals. Seaweeds can provide minerals often absent from freshwater and food crops grown on mineral-depleted soils.

  • IODINE - The single most important element provided by seaweeds, is Iodine. ALL vertebrate animals REQUIRE IODINE. This iodine is used in thyroid hormones, T4, thyroxine, and T3, tri-iodothyronine to control all fetal development, postnatal growth, and ongoing daily body metabolism. No iodine, no vertebrate life
  • POTASSIUM - All living cells, and that means all of animal cells, need potassium all of the time to function and stay alive. There are no exceptions. Animals' bodies have no innate potassium conservation mechanisms. Potassium is essential for even minimal nerve and muscle functioning, and as a cross-membrane transporter ion for neurotransmittors and hormones.
  • SELENIUM - Selenium is present in all seaweeds in physiologically significant amounts. Selenium is, like its partner in thyroid hormone metabolism. No selenium, no thyroid hormone production and conversion of T4 to T3. Selenium is required for many critical metabolic actions besides the selenodeiodinases.
  • PHYCOPOLYMERS - All seaweeds contain a large proportion (25-40%) of mucopolysaccharides , collectively referred to as Phycopolymers. The brown algal phycopolymers are algin andfucoidan, both sulfated galactans. Algin has great therapeutic value as a heavy metal detoxifying agent.Fucoidan reduces the intensity of the inflammatory response and promote more rapid tissue healing after wound trauma and surgical trauma.
  • Seaweeds are used as treatments for respiratory ailments. The hormone Melatonin is abundant in many seaweed. You can also find Thyroid Hormones in Seaweeds. Brown seaweeds are the only known non-animal sources of thyroid hormones. Most seaweeds are rich in vitamins, especially the B vitamins, including B12. They also have significant amounts (1-3%)of Omega-3 fatty acids. BROWN SEAWEED- ENHANCE EXCRETION OF DIOXINS. Seaweeds accelerated whole body elimination of Dioxins and their metabolites.

14. Comfrey Leaf - This herb is a favorite first aid remedy. It contains a compound called allantoin, which when applied to the skin accelerates the healing of tissue and the closing of wounds. When fresh leaves or roots are applied to a wound it causes it to contract and close quicker and inhibits the opportunity for infection while minimizing scarring. Comfrey leaf has a long history of use to promote the healing of bones and wounds, as well as internal use to treat a wide variety of ailments from arthritis to ulcers. Its use in Chinese traditional medicine spans over 2000 years. Comfrey leaf constituents include tannins, rosmarinic acid, allantoin, steroidal saponins, mucilage, inulin, pyrrolizidine alkaloids, Gum, Carotene, Glycosides, Sugars, Beta-sitosterol, Triterpenoids, Vitamin B-12, Protein, Zinc. Comfrey leaf is used in herbal pastes, ointments, tinctures, decoctions, poultices and in cosmetics. It is a popular addition to herbal salves and ointments, which can be used for bruises, sprains, eczema, swellings and burns.

15. Dandelions - Dandelion flowers, roots and leaves, have been used for centuries in traditional Chinese medicine & medicinal teas, most notably for liver detoxification, as a natural diuretic and for inflammation reduction. Unlike other diuretics, dandelion leaves contain good amounts of potassium, a mineral that is often lost during increased micturition. There is also evidence that this property of dandelion leaves may normalize
blood sugar.

16. Celery - Celery is much more than a traditional summer salad ingredient. Available throughout the year, a little research on celery shows this versatile vegetable has very real health benefits and is worth adding to your weekly diet. Research has shown that celery contains blood pressure reducing properties. Celery contains active compounds called Pthalides which relax the muscles of the arteries that regulate blood pressure allowing these vessels to dilate.Pthalides also reduce stress hormones which can cause blood vessels to constrict. Celery is an excellent source of Vitamin C with all its health benefits. Vitamin C can help to reduce cold symptoms or the severity of cold symptoms during the winter months. This important Vitamin helps to support the immune system and is a cold fighter!
Celery also provides fibre and essential minerals such as Folacin and Potassium.
Celery has a long history of use, first as a medicine and then later as a food.. Celery seeds are also a great source of calcium, and are regarded as a good alternative to animal products.

17. Nettle - Nettle has a flavour similar to spinach when cooked, and is rich in vitamins A, C, D, iron, potassium, manganese, and calcium. Extracts can be used to treat arthritis, anemia, hay fever, kidney problems, and pain. Fresh nettle is used in folk remedies to stop all types of bleeding, due to its high Vitamin K content.

18. Burdock - Folk herbalists consider dried burdock to be a diuretic, diaphoretic, and a blood purifying agent. it is popular in Europe as a scalp treatment applied to improve hair strength, shine and body, help reverse scalp conditions such as dandruff, and combat hair loss.

19. Devils claw - Used for the treatment of Osteoarthritis , Back and neck pain, In addition to the treatment of these and other painful disorders, useful for upset stomach, loss of appetite, headaches, allergies, and fever. Topical preparations of devil's claw are also applied to the surface of the skin to heal sores, ulcers, boils, and skin lesions.

19. Taurine - Taurine's main purpose is to act as a catalyst facilitating the flow of vital elements to and from cells. Elements such as Sodium, Potassium, and Calcium depend on it in order for them to move from one cell to another. It has been a present element in cat food due to its vital properties and just recently pet food manufacturers have been implementing it into dog foods also realizing that this can be very beneficial to dogs as well as cats.

Taurine is most abundantly found in the retina and cases of blindness have been linked to its deficiency in kittens, however in most cases, the same studies showed a reversal of the blindness when these supplements were administered. It is also a great asset to the heart. For instance, there were cases where kittens who suffered dilated cardiomyopathy (a disorder of the heart muscle without any known cause) because of a lack of
Taurine in their bodies.

Not all dog food manufacturers add Taurine to your dog food so you need to read labels at all times to make sure that it is included. Most manufacturers are out there to make a buck and are not at all concerned with your dog's health. For this reason, we tell you to do your homework. You need to know as much as you can about what you are feeding your dog.

Your dog will eat anything that is placed before him. So you must give him only the best dog food. With so much competition, research is not high on a dog food manufacturer's list so that is why you must be so vigilant. Research takes time and money so you will pay for the better more nutritious foods. Take the time and do your own research to ensure that you have touched all of your nutritional bases.

20. Carnitine - The carnitines exert a substantial antioxidant action, thereby providing a protective effect against lipid peroxidation of phospholipid membranes and against oxidative stress induced at the myocardial and endothelial cell level.
Carnitine is a nutrient that helps the body turn fat into energy. It is produced by the body in the liver and kidneys and stored in the skeletal muscles, heart, brain, and sperm. Usually, the body can make all the carnitine it needs. Some animals, however, may be deficient in carnitine because their bodies cannot make enough carnitine or transport it into tissues so it can be used. Some other conditions, such as angina or intermittent claudication, can also cause insufficient carnitine in the body, as can some medications.
Carnitine is also used in the treatment of Angina, Heart attack and Heart failure (Heart condition), diabetic neuropathy, kidney disease and hyperthyroidism.

These are the reasons why NutroPetPlan is classed as a Super Premium Dog Food.
